More artwork!

My Etsy shop has been updated with some additional photos and artwork. This first is an A4 giclee print, 'Sunrise' taken from a watercolour/gouache diptych.

This print is entitled 'Porthmeor Rocks'.

'Let's Dance'!

'Lucid'

The next is an original painted on primed card and is called 'Gannet Seas', because we often see Gannets diving here in such conditions.

This too is an original on primed card - 'Seascape & Headland' - I'm not always so imaginative when it comes to titles!

I forgot to include close ups of 'St Ives Harbour & Godrevy' in the previous post, so here they are (below) - makes it easier to see brushstrokes, texture and the grain of the wooden support.

  14. Jane and Emma, thank you, some paintings work better than others don't they? Sometimes it's all struggle and on other, rarer, occasions the artist can do no wrong! Best wishes. Lesley

  17. I really like the close-ups which show the textures especially the sand and water. They could stand as works on there own.

  18. Hi Jill, and thanks. The painting's quite large, so there's a lot of brushwork that's not obvious online when viewed complete. BFN. Lesley

  23. Lovely work Lesley. I like the gentle colours and softness and the close up shows the textures really well. I think Seascapes and Headland is my favourite though. I wish I lived near the sea...sigh.

  24. Shelby, Sybille and Cathy thanks for the lovely, heartening comments, which are appreciated as always!

And Sybille, I know what you mean about leaving comments, having been very wordy on other blogs only for everthing to be lost when leaving the page prematurely because I've not selected a profile, signed in, misspelt the word verification and then forgotten to check the preview!! It's so frustrating!! BFN. Lesley

All is hectic at the moment - though on an 'even keel' luckily - which explains the sporadic posting and following. Hope you're enjoying the festival too. BFN. x

New paintings for August and some from July..

Summer, such a hectic, busy time here in St Ives, no complaints though, there's been enough sunshine to keep everyone happy!
On the personal news front: All six of the artworks painted with submission to the annual ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in mind are now at the framer's.  There's still time to enter, click the link to find out more.

The Rotary Club of St Ives popular fundraising exhibition of donated postcard sized art is a high point of the annual St Ives September Festival and my contribution is already in the hands of the organisers.

The ever popular Square Deal Show at St Ives Society of Artists Mariners Gallery is another unmissable September Festival event.  I have my blank canvas, it's unwrapped and a start on it will be made very soon - just need to think about what to paint!
