July paintings

Another post and can you believe it? I've done it again - placed the paintings in glazed frames before photographing them!! Only the first two though - the remaining images have been scanned before framing. This one is entitled 'Low Tide at Dusk' and measures 12.5 x 12 cm and is rendered in oil on primed board.   SOLD 'Winter Seascape' 12.5 x 12 cm, oil on primed board. SOLD 'Godrevy Lighthouse, summer evening' 16.5 x 21.5 cm, oil on primed board.   SOLD 'Advancing Tide' 12.5 x 12.5 cm, oil on primed board.   SOLD 'Winter low tide' 8.5 x 15.5 cm, oil on primed paper. SOLD 'Approaching Squall' 12.5 x 12.5 cm, oil on board. SOLD Copyright 'Picture from St Ives' Lesley Ninnes.

Two little paintings

The quality of both these images is poor because I'd placed them in glazed frames before remembering that they hadn't been photographed, so they went onto the scanner, frames and all! The first is entitled 'Portscatho Garden', inspired by a photo taken when I visited the first 'Homespun' Fair held in the village of Portscatho last August. It's rendered in oil on primed board and measures just 12.5 x 12 cm.   SOLD The next was also inspired by the same photo and is called 'Portscatho View', oil on primed board, 12 x 12 cm.  SOLD The colours are not particularly accurate either!!

Beauty in the mist and rain

Sitting at the table working this morning I looked at the scene below and was struck by its loveliness, despite the rain and mist. In fact, the garden looks beautiful because of the mist and rain. Saturated foliage and saturated colour. No wind and a sky 'neutralised' by the blanketing mist. Even the weeds growing between the paving slabs look acceptable!

Budget Camping

Camping at a quiet location, just 3 miles outside the hustle and bustle of St Ives can be found at Lower Penderleath Camp Site this summer. Tents only. Hot and cold water showers are available and there's an area with hot water for washing pots and pans etc.  For more info/bookings click here or phone 0772 301 4567. The photo below - although not of the camp site - shows the surrounding scenery of this lovely part of the world. Photo Attribution: Sheila Russell

Exquisite!!

This beautiful pen & ink drawing is entitled 'Nuthatch' and is the work of talented Cathy at One Pink Goose . Click to enlarge to appreciate the detail and amount of work that has gone into this exquisite piece of work. I love everything about it, from the intricacy of composition and subtlety of contrasting tones to the range of marks used and subject matter. I will treasure this work of art always, thank you so much, Cathy. x Copyright Cathy Connolley.
