Summer Open Exhibition Bath Society of Artists

Bath Society of Artists launches its Summer Open Exhibition on Friday 19 May, 2017. This popular annual event is always exciting and well attended owing to the high standard of exhibits selected and displayed at the City's prestigious Victoria Gallery , situated beside the historic and picturesque Pulteney Bridge The show will run until 15 July 2017, daily from 10.30 am - 5.00 pm. Recent events and new original paintings

Some of you may remember a painting I completed back in March 2013 for the October raffle fundraiser at St Ives Society of Artists?  Well here's a pic which appeared in a recent edition of our independent, local weekly newspaper  The St Ives Times & Echo of yours truly making the official 'live raffle draw' for 'Porthmeor Reflection', which was won by a lady from Chester. Beautiful Bath

Just over a week ago I travelled up to Bath for the preview of Bath Society of Artists Annual Open Exhibition.  Decades have passed since I last visited and it was thrilling to be back in this beautiful city, albeit for a very short time!   'Pulteney Bridge' And the weather was gorgeous - no need to worry about taking a brolly - or even a cardigan for that matter! The preview was extremely busy and the diversity of styles and subject matter of the 300 artworks displayed made for a really interesting evening.  Sadly no pics as photography is not permitted.  Click  here  for more information about the current exhibition. I stayed at Travelodge Bath Waterside  which is situated at Widcombe Basin alongside the Kennet & Avon Canal and just minutes on foot from Bath Railway Station and the Town Centre.  There was no air conditioning so my room was extremely hot, although it was possible to open the large picture ...

Bath Society Open Exhibition

My goodness, time flies and the Bath Society of Artists 107th Annual Open Exhibition is already underway.  Click here   to visit the website and for information re opening times and location.  Admission is free and the show continues until 19 May 2012. I'm delighted to have had two paintings accepted this year: 'Jug of Anemones', oil on canvas and 'Waves Piling Up', oil on board.   SOLD Again fingers are crossed that they'll sell.  Visit if you're able, as there are hundreds of diverse artworks displayed, with something for every taste.
