January Sunshine

A beautiful day here in St Ives, from start to finish, the moon shining brightly as it set in the West before dawn this morning until rising again, bold and full, early this evening, and barely a cloud to be seen in between.  Yet this is January, mid-winter in the UK - and roads just a little way inland began the same day frozen, fringed with trees whitened by a blanket of frost.

Click the pics to enlarge for a better view of the moonlight reflected in St Ives Bay below.

My day at Art Space Gallery, no hardship at all spending time in the sunniest, warmest spot in St Ives!

I didn't spend all day in the sun honest!

My wall at Art Space.  We'll close for a couple of weeks from Sunday, to clean and decorate, before opening again in early February, 2011.

  6. You are just mean! By the way, I can verify that it is the hottest spot in ST Ives. After years of sitting freezing on Porthgwidden beach in the wind, the kids now will only sit on town beach as it is noticibly hotter! We once sat there on November 1st and it was lovely!! Also - the photo of you is lovely - thats how happy I would look if I was there!!!xxxx

Summer, such a hectic, busy time here in St Ives, no complaints though, there's been enough sunshine to keep everyone happy!
On the personal news front: All six of the artworks painted with submission to the annual ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in mind are now at the framer's.  There's still time to enter, click the link to find out more.

The Rotary Club of St Ives popular fundraising exhibition of donated postcard sized art is a high point of the annual St Ives September Festival and my contribution is already in the hands of the organisers.

The ever popular Square Deal Show at St Ives Society of Artists Mariners Gallery is another unmissable September Festival event.  I have my blank canvas, it's unwrapped and a start on it will be made very soon - just need to think about what to paint!
