Better Late than........

I'm shamed into publishing today having seen Carolyn's most recent post on her beautiful textile blog, click here to view.  Being lucky enough to possess two of Carolyn's handmade Christmas cards and two of her tree ornaments, I really must share these pictures with you - taken this evening.

First here's this year's card - look above to see Carolyn's handmade crystal snowflake ornament.

This is the card that Carolyn sent last year, complete with newly added beading.

And below is the decoration originally placed on last year's card, it's so pretty - apologies for the quality of the photo.

Click to enlarge.  Time to go now to do the job I hate, taking down the Christmas Tree - everything looks so bare afterwards.  Have a lovely evening. x

Hi Pipany, yes, rain here too - hard to accept after such a prolonged dry spell. Had a great New Year's Eve thanks, with plenty going on in St Ives, fancy dress, fireworks etc. x

  4. I put the Christmas stuff back in the attic a week ago, and yes, it does seem so bare after wards, There must be a way to cheer up the atmosphere in the bleak months of Jan-March. I try to leave out a few things that say, WINTER but not Christmas.. like bittersweet and rosehips.

New paintings for August and some from July..

Summer, such a hectic, busy time here in St Ives, no complaints though, there's been enough sunshine to keep everyone happy!
On the personal news front: All six of the artworks painted with submission to the annual ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in mind are now at the framer's.  There's still time to enter, click the link to find out more.

The Rotary Club of St Ives popular fundraising exhibition of donated postcard sized art is a high point of the annual St Ives September Festival and my contribution is already in the hands of the organisers.

The ever popular Square Deal Show at St Ives Society of Artists Mariners Gallery is another unmissable September Festival event.  I have my blank canvas, it's unwrapped and a start on it will be made very soon - just need to think about what to paint!
