Audrey's Country Crafts

'Wave after Wave' 12 x 24 inches, acrylic/oil on canvas

'Summer Night, St Ives' 12 x 24 inches, acrylic/oil on canvas. SOLD

I have been busy and have now opened an Etsy shop for my prints, later (much, much later) there will also be some small originals on board for sale. Audrey, who's based in Canada, has kindly featured Sea Blue Sky Abstracts on her blog - click the button on the side panel or the heading of this post to see more of what she does.

I have a sort of tick to do list -, 2.Etsy shop, 3.personal website. Plus, there's also Folksy to consider! Life is never dull - it's a little too busy actually, there are many jobs that never get done!

I'm having fun working on two canvases for the next Art Space window theme - Collage. Bizaare, who's going to buy them? These are two pieces that might end up staying with me forever. I have the titles already - 'Floral' Feel Amazing' taken from a clothing label included in the artwork - we all want to 'feel amazing' right? And 'Floral Pedestal' because of the way that particular composition is evolving.

The accompanying images are two of my paintings on the 'Artists Palette' window theme, which continues at Art Space Gallery until 12 July 2009.

  1. I love your painting!! The top one is amazing. Thanks so much for adding one of my buttons to your blog.

  2. Sooooo calming and serene. I can almost imagine myself sitting there -- on the coast - in St. Ives. Beautiful.

  3. Thanks for your lovely comments Cathy, Cathie and Audrey! Hope the sun is shining where you are - we've had some rain this evening, which is good for the gardens. BFN. Lesley

  4. Stunning work Lesley. Really stunnng.

  5. Thanks Viv - how are your preparations for the big day on August 2 going? I'm really excited about what is going to be available at Home Spun. Best wishes. Lesley

  6. Oooo I do like those two pics. I would love to do something similar in felt one day. So inspiring thank you.

  7. Thanks Kate - good luck with the felted versions, they could work really well. BFN.

  8. Your work is beautiful. That is exciting about an etsy store I wish you luck with it. And look forward to seeing your small originals.

  9. Hi Lily, my intentions are good, but just when those small originals get done is another story. Getting the boards cut is key - that way they'll be on hand, begging to be painted. Thanks for your lovely comment. Lesley

  10. OOO beautiful work as ever! And Etsy store looks fabulous! x:)

  11. Thanks Mimilove - I'm still learning as regards Etsy but am relieved to see that the image 'that wasn't loading' has now returned. Must check the banner, because that was missing too! Bye for now. Lesley

  12. Oooooh thanks for your comment on my blog Lesley. I am lovin your blog your paintings are beautiful, Love Helen x

  13. Thanks Helen, I love what you do - the range and diversity from handmade to vintage. BFN. Lesley

  14. These canvases are lovely! I must get to see some of your work in the flesh at one of the galleries you are in at St Ives. Jane xx

  15. Hello Lesley - Thanks for your comment on my "Nature's Wonder" blog post. I still hold those images of the sky vividly in my mind. I'm so glad I posted the photographs because I can look at them again and again and I am transported back to that plane journey. Your painting 'Wave after Wave' reminds me of those images in the sky actually! When travelling and witnessing the changing amazing sky - if I didn't KNOW I was on a plane - I could have been deceived into thinking I was on the ground and some of the clouds were a beach somewhere, with the sky above. Just amazing!

Your background pattern reminds me of some rubber stamping I have been working on today for my cardmaking! Will post about the success or otherwise of our visit to Invercottage - very much looking forward to it either way! BB

  16. Thanks Jane and BB, have a great week! Lesley x
