Audrey's Country Crafts

'Wave after Wave' 12 x 24 inches, acrylic/oil on canvas

'Summer Night, St Ives' 12 x 24 inches, acrylic/oil on canvas. SOLD

I have been busy and have now opened an Etsy shop for my prints, later (much, much later) there will also be some small originals on board for sale. Audrey, who's based in Canada, has kindly featured Sea Blue Sky Abstracts on her blog - click the button on the side panel or the heading of this post to see more of what she does.

I have a sort of tick to do list - 1.blog, 2.Etsy shop, 3.personal website. Plus, there's also Folksy to consider! Life is never dull - it's a little too busy actually, there are many jobs that never get done!

I'm having fun working on two canvases for the next Art Space window theme - Collage. Bizaare, who's going to buy them? These are two pieces that might end up staying with me forever. I have the titles already - 'Floral' Feel Amazing' taken from a clothing label included in the artwork - we all want to 'feel amazing' right? And 'Floral Pedestal' because of the way that particular composition is evolving.

The accompanying images are two of my paintings on the 'Artists Palette' window theme, which continues at Art Space Gallery until 12 July 2009.

  15. Hello Lesley - Thanks for your comment on my "Nature's Wonder" blog post. I still hold those images of the sky vividly in my mind. I'm so glad I posted the photographs because I can look at them again and again and I am transported back to that plane journey. Your painting 'Wave after Wave' reminds me of those images in the sky actually! When travelling and witnessing the changing amazing sky - if I didn't KNOW I was on a plane - I could have been deceived into thinking I was on the ground and some of the clouds were a beach somewhere, with the sky above. Just amazing!

Your background pattern reminds me of some rubber stamping I have been working on today for my cardmaking! Will post about the success or otherwise of our visit to Invercottage - very much looking forward to it either way! BB

The Rotary Club of St Ives popular fundraising exhibition of donated postcard sized art is a high point of the annual St Ives September Festival and my contribution is already in the hands of the organisers.

The ever popular Square Deal Show at St Ives Society of Artists Mariners Gallery is another unmissable September Festival event.  I have my blank canvas, it's unwrapped and a start on it will be made very soon - just need to think about what to paint!
