Well, some of us managed to find the sun last month, several hundred of us in fact! All aboard Thomson's Island Escape 'Spirit of the Med' cruise, which departed Palma, on 16 April, 2013.
A short flight from Exeter, watching the clouds disappear, flying over snow capped Pyrennees, looking down on Barcelona next, quickly left behind, and shortly being rewarded with a clear view of the North coast of Mallorca, bathed in sunlight, craggy cliffs reflected in sea so calm and still and blue.
Walking alongside the old city wall. Palma Cathedral can be seen in the distance.

A closer view of one of the entrances to the Cathedral.
Pictured again, this time from the ship, when we sailed at 11 pm. Quite a strange feeling at first, like standing on a moving sky scraper.
A day and night spent at sea. Welcome rest, spent sunbathing and sea so calm - nothing to be seen but a pod of dolphins playing in the ship's wake in the beautiful late afternoon.
Up early to see the approach to Ajaccio, Corsica, snow capped mountains swathed in mist.....
Passing the Sanguinary Islands on the port side.
Getting closer - and it's another lovely day!
Picturesque and colourful.
The busy harbour and port - 'Island Escape' visible on the left, no danger of getting lost here.
Pleasing architecture and majestic date palms.
The Citadel and inviting beach.
Breeze was fresh though.
Close by the Citadel again and heading back to town.
Beautiful island. Next post - we travel on to Rome and Florence.
