November Colours 2012

'November Colours 2012'

A diptych, painted in acrylic and oil (81 x 50.5 x 2 cm) on narrow canvases, held together with connecting plates, so the artwork can be hung as shown or separated and hung with a larger gap between.

That's not a fire on the bottom right by the way - just to preempt any assumptions!  The colours of November provided the starting point and inspiration, the landscape is a secondary development.  November can be dark, dreary and miserable, but there are moments and even some days when the colours are so strong and bright and wonderful

This will be submitted to Penwith Society of Arts Winter Exhibition so please keep fingers crossed for me.  If not included in the above, 'November Colours' will be displayed in the Christmas Exhibition at Art Space Gallery.

I was pleased to find today (13 Dec) that the painting has been accepted and will be included in the Penwith Society of Arts Winter Exhibition 2012-13, which opens on Saturday 15 December, at Penwith Galleries, Back Road West, St Ives, TR26 1NL, tel:  01736 795579.  Curator Kathleen Watkins.

This includes a piece of anaglypta from Carol Parsons painting class back in March, 2009? This particular piece of wallpaper has already been used to 'print paint to canvas'. Victoria Hilliard produces lovely ceramic pictures inspired by nature, including the portrayal of moths and butterflies. Would I have produced this collage if Tori were not a member of Art Space Gallery? Maybe not. Everything is 'grist to the visual mill' as far as artists are concerned. 'Floral - Pedestal' this painting just evolved. Fun, fun and more fun! 'Floral - Feel Amazing'. I love this artwork!
