Happy New Year!

Happy New Year one and all. After a day marked by ferocious squalls and mountainous seas, we could have been forgiven for thinking that any celebrations would be a wash-out, here in St Ives last night. Fortunately not the case! The rain stopped, fancy dress was donned and the streets and harbour peopled by excited revellers, with standing room only in every direction when the 60 second countdown to midnight began and a breathtaking firework display was launched from the Quay' (Smeaton's Pier) marking the arrival of 2018. And we have a bright start this morning, a favourable sign for the next 12 months? Hope so. Best wishes.
