Tomorrow evening, Friday 22nd April, promises to be a lively, colourful affair when Bath Society of Artists 111th Annual Exhibition is opened by Kaffe Fasset at the Victoria Art Gallery , by Pulteney Bridge, in the centre of the golden city.  The show will open to the public on Saturday 23rd April and runs until 4th June, 2016.  Hours of opening are 10.30 am - 5.00 pm daily.  Well worth a visit if you're in the area - with many exciting and diverse works on display by well known, emerging and young artists, everyone comes across something to love. Something quite different for me, a large seascape in oil on deep edge canvas. Porthmeor is the name of the beach, Gowna and Carn Everis are the rocks in the sea at either end. 'Porthmeor, Gowna and Carn Everis' 110 x 75 cm. SOLD Detail Reference - a now very smudgy drawing made at the beach two or three years ago and assorted photos taken during frequent walks across Porthmeor.  I realised the only way to tackle a support of this size was to hang it on the wall and succeeded eventually after a few attempts.  There are some unsightly holes to go with the paint marks unfortunately. The rain goes on, fortunately punctuated with sunlight to give us some joy - in the form of rainbows.  Inspirational and not easy to portray, I have made a start, undeterred by the job in hand.  Practice makes perfect, right?
