New works 2017

New work for a new year and we've enjoyed some sunny days here in St Ives.  January has been a fine month so far. PAINTINGS The first three are already framed and displayed at Art Space Gallery, St Ives   although the Gallery will be closed from 4pm this Sunday 22nd January (for it's annual spring clean and repainting) until Wednesday 1st February. Below, the painting (and the next) were started early in December, 2016 and completed in the early days of 2017. 'Porthgwidden Beach View' oil on board, 13.5 x 13.5 cm.  SOLD 'A Good Day, St Ives Bay' oil on board, 13.5 x 13.5 cm.   SOLD Here's the first of 2017... 'Porthmeor, Tide's In', oil on board, 13.5 x 13.5 cm. SOLD The next paintings are as yet unframed and will appear in our newly spic and span gallery when it reopens! 'Unpredictable Porthmeor' oil on board, 13.5 x 13.5 cm.

Paintings - small seascapes

Here are two paintings I didn't get around to scanning until today and two completed earlier in the month that I forgot to post! Have a good weekend all - hope the sun comes back... 'Porthgwidden Rain' oil on board 14 x 21.5 cm.   SOLD 'Coast, Open Space' oil on board 13.5 x 13.5 cm.   SOLD 'Porthmeor, Clouds & Pool' 13.5 x 13.5 cm.   SOLD   'Distant Surf & Inner Calm' oil on board 13.5 x 13.5 cm.   SOLD Copyright Lesley Ninnes.  Click to enlarge.

Porthmeor and Porthgwidden inspired paintings

Unfortunately forgot to photograph the paintings below before taking to the framers - so please excuse the picture quality, as the frames are glazed!  Both paintings measure 29 x 20 cm and are float mounted in white wood frames measuring 56 x 46 cm. 'Porthgwidden Impression' oil on board. In this painting I'm imagining myself on Porthgwidden Beach, looking across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse - the rock on the right is 'Merryn'.   SOLD 'Porthmeor - Open Space' oil on board.   SOLD This, I hope, captures the clarity often seen at Porthmeor and the way clouds are reflected in the slick of water ahead of the waves. They're not exhibited anywhere at the moment, but will probably end up at Art Space Gallery before long!  Click to enlarge.  Copyright Lesley Ninnes.
